Cameroon has raised the base salary for government workers and the military, entering negotiations with transport workers in an effort to stop potential social unrest, according to Reuters Africa.
The fuel subsidies on petrol, diesel and cooking gas were reportedly cancelled last week in an attempt to cut costs - pushing up the price of petrol by 14 percent and diesel by 15 percent, and gas by 8 percent.
